All programs are structured as 60-credit doctoral degrees delivered fully online through flexible asynchronous learning. Coursework progresses in a defined sequence toward either a research-intensive doctoral dissertation for an applied doctoral research project. Faculty mentorship is integrated throughout coursework, candidacy, research development, and dissertation supervision.

Ph.D. students are expected to complete original research capable of contributing to scholarly and peer-reviewed discourse. Applied doctorate students are expected to complete practice-based research addressing complex organizational, professional, of policy-related challenges.

The dissertation and applied doctoral project are both expected to demonstrate systematic inquiry, scholarly rigor, evidence-based analysis, and advanced doctoral-level writing. Dissertations are designed to address identified gaps in existing research literature, while applied doctoral projects are intended to respond to real-world problems of practice through research-informed analysis and recommendations.

Doctoral students work closely with faculty mentors and dissertation chairs throughout the research development and dissertation process to evaluate the strength, relevance, and feasibility of proposed research problems. Appropriate gray literature may be incorporated where relevant to support industry, policy, or organizational context within applied doctoral research.

Advanced methodological rigor, scholarly synthesis, and comprehensive analysis of findings are expected across both dissertation and applied doctoral research pathways.
