HR provides the current Human Resources Policy Handbook during onboarding and after substantive revisions. To request a copy, email hr@newmeridianuniversity.org with your name and current or prospective role. Ask for an accessible format if needed.
Read the handbook with your signed employment or services agreement and any additional terms supplied by HR. Ask HR if your agreement and handbook give different instructions. Appointments, Compensation, and Benefits explains employment classifications, pay, and employee benefit eligibility.
The Onboarding and Readiness Checklist records what must be completed before an assignment begins. HR and academic leadership also complete the Faculty Credential Verification and Academic Assignment Approval record for faculty. Joining NMU and Personnel Services lists the documents to prepare.
The Work Location and Remote Work Record covers your location, availability, equipment, and support arrangements. HR may use an equivalent approved record; update only changed information. See Remote Work and Workplace Support for location changes and work arrangements.
The Performance Evaluation Form records an employee review and written response. The Professional Development Plan and Record covers goals, training approvals, and completed activities. Performance and Professional Development explains review preparation and training requests.
The Separation and Appointment-Completion Checklist tracks handover, university property, and account access when an appointment ends. HR identifies the items you must complete.
Use the Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Management Record to report an outside activity, financial interest, or personal relationship that could affect your university responsibilities. Identify the affected work or decision and relevant dates. Disclose the conflict before participating in that decision.
The Workplace Concern or Grievance Form records what happened, dates, supporting information, and the outcome requested. Use the Appeal Form to identify a decision you are challenging and the grounds for appeal. Ask HR for the procedure and deadline that apply.
You can raise a concern before completing a form; oral reports remain available. If the concern involves HR, use the independent reporting contact provided during orientation.
The Office of Ethical Compliance provides policies on fair treatment, reporting concerns, retaliation, and privacy.
For accommodation requests and discrimination concerns, see Equal Opportunity and Accommodations.
Academic Integrity and Research Misconduct sets out the procedure for suspected academic violations. The Artificial Intelligence policy (PDF) governs AI use. The Privacy and Information Protection policy (PDF) addresses the handling of restricted information.
Direct questions about courses, assessments, dissertation supervision, or research approval to your academic supervisor or designated academic leader.
Check the version and effective date on your documents. HR communicates approved changes and identifies the personnel affected. Ask HR which version applies if your copies differ.
The Handbook Acknowledgment records the handbook and additional terms you received. Note any document you could not access or need explained. Signing confirms receipt and responsibility to review the policies. Your signature does not waive rights or change your agreement, and it does not mean you agree with every policy or decision.
To request a form, email hr@newmeridianuniversity.org with its name or a description of what you need to do. Include any deadline.
Ask HR for a secure submission method before sending medical records, banking details, or identity documents. Do not attach these records to ordinary email or general checklists.
For personnel file access, factual corrections, or employment verification, follow the personnel records instructions.
